Avocado Crema is another incredibly easy recipe that I never even thought needed a recipe – But live and learn! I forget what is so everyday for us here on the border is unusual and new on other dining tables. So here is the recipe and a video to boot!
So Easy to Make!
Avocado Crema is just that – creamy savory avocado made into a creamy sauce. The source of the creamy texture is really up to you. I use traditional dairy sour cream, but there are so many creamy, tangy dairy substitutes on the market these days – cashew yogurt, coconut yogurt. To mention only a few. Of course, there are dairy based cow’s milk alternative such as goat’s milk yogurt, and lactose free cow’s milk products like kefir and skyr. Any creamy product can work as the crema part of your Avocado Crema, providing that it is unsweetened and unflavored.
We always buy extra-large avocados, even though they are a bit more expensive. The small ones require more cutting and peeling, so the extra-large avocados are one of the convenience foods we keep in the house. Of course, use the freshest avocados you can find at your supermarket. But a little convenience never hurt anyone!
