Melon Ginger Margaritas might just be the perfect margarita for those hot summer days. Not too sweet with a bracing hint of natural ginger, this cocktail is very refreshing!
You don’t even need to add tequila for a Melon Ginger Margarita. This is a nice change from regular old-fashioned lemonade. If mocktails are your cup of tea, simply leave out the tequila when making this beverage. Melon and ginger are such a good flavor combo, you won’t miss the alcohol!
Get Creative
I used a Dino melon for the margarita pictured above, but use whatever fresh melon looks good at the market. Cantaloupe or Honeydew are the best choices (IMHO) but there are beautiful Canary and Crenshaw melons that would be delicious also. Watermelon would be ok for this beverage, especially if the watermelon is super sweet. Watery, mild melons need not apply. Use the best melon available!
Also, look for ripe summer fruit for the perfect garnish. Pineapple pairs well with melon and ginger, but you could also use peaches, plums or papayas. Even a swizzle stick made of fresh sugar cane would be delightful.
Great for Picnics
Picnics are the perfect venue for a Melon Ginger Margarita. Simply pour the prepared margarita into a thermos and take it with you. A quick shake in a cocktail shaker will give you the perfectly chilled cocktail.
If all goes well, you will have someone to share you Melon Ginger Margarita with – Someone who shares you passion for the simple things in life. Is passion compatible with simplicity? As an armchair philosopher, I just don’t know if this is logical. But I really hope it is possible. I hope you get to enjoy a simple cocktail in the company of friends this summer. This is the good stuff, folks. Get out there and enjoy!
